SkyCity Adelaide casino, viewed from the hotel
Eos by SkyCity is the hotel attached to SkyCity Adelaide, so the casino is part of the setting rather than the reason to book a room. If you are planning one to three nights on the Riverbank, it helps to know where the gaming areas sit, what the official pages publish, and what they do not publish before you arrive.
Home / The casino, factually
Where the casino sits in the Riverbank precinct
SkyCity Adelaide gives its address as North Terrace, Adelaide. Eos by SkyCity is published at Festival Drive, Adelaide, SA 5000, Australia. In practice, you are between North Terrace and Festival Plaza, with entrances serving different parts of the precinct. The North Terrace Entrance is the one named for North Terrace, the tram and Rundle Mall. The Festival Plaza Entrance is on the east side, from Festival Plaza, Festival Drive, Adelaide Festival Centre and the Festival Car Park lifts.
By secondary sources, the casino is located in the heritage-listed Adelaide railway station building on North Terrace. That matters for a hotel guest because the property does not feel like a standalone resort set away from the city. You arrive through a civic building and a Riverbank precinct that also faces the river and Adelaide Oval.
There is also a Game Day Entrance via the Railway Station tunnel, published as open two hours before until two hours after every Adelaide Oval AFL game. If you are staying for a match night or concert period, read the separate note on match and concert nights at Adelaide Oval before you set dinner and arrival times.
What the official casino pages publish
The casino page says the gaming areas span two levels. It names table games including roulette, baccarat, blackjack and poker, and refers to automated table game stadiums with live dealers. It also refers to gaming machines and the SkyCity Rewards loyalty programme, which the official site says is free to join. This website records those details as facts about the venue; it does not offer or facilitate gambling.
The official pages fetched for this guide did not publish casino opening hours. The same fetched pages did not publish a dress code. If hours or dress standards matter for your stay, check the official casino page directly before you travel: skycityadelaide.com.au/casino. Several official pages were unreachable or limited when facts were compiled, so unpublished details are not filled in from memory here.
Secondary sources give figures for the casino floor, including 129,000 sq ft and references to 90 gaming tables and 950 gaming machines, but the source is secondary and internally inconsistent on machine numbers. For that reason, this guide does not treat those figures as current official specifications.
Age, ID and access rules
SkyCity Adelaide publishes that customers must be 18 years or older to enter any gaming area. It also says customers wishing to enter a SkyCity Adelaide gaming area must, on request, provide valid photographic identification. The South Australian guidance listed in the facts includes an Australian driver’s licence, Australian proof-of-age card or VIC/TAS keypass, certain digital licences or proof-of-age documents, and an Australian or international passport.
The casino is a physical venue in South Australia. This site does not imply that casino play is available through the website. The room-request form is only for accommodation requests at Eos by SkyCity.
If the casino is not relevant to your stay, you can treat it as part of the wider SkyCity building and focus on the hotel, the river, the rooftop and restaurants. The full review separates the hotel experience from the venue’s gaming areas, and the rooms and suites page keeps to the accommodation categories published by the hotel.
Regulation and host responsibility
Consumer and Business Services is the South Australian regulator named in the facts for gambling and gaming activities in the state. The Liquor and Gambling Commissioner sits within CBS. SkyCity Adelaide also publishes host responsibility contacts and refers to a Host Responsibility Strategy dated May 2025.
On 19 June 2026, CBS announced a non-binding heads of agreement under which SkyCity Adelaide was to be fined $21 million. The measures listed in that release include an independent-majority board by 1 January 2028, a dedicated CEO, an independent compliance auditor, phasing out cash transactions over $4,999, and a permanent junket ban. That is recorded here as a regulatory fact, not as a judgement on a hotel stay.
For support, the national gambling help line is 1800 858 858. South Australian barring can involve asking venue staff to bar you from entering the gambling area for a period of time or indefinitely, or asking Consumer and Business Services to bar you from gambling areas. There is more context on the separate responsible gambling page.
How it affects a one-to-three-night stay
For most hotel guests, the practical point is circulation. Eos is published as a 120-room hotel, with room categories including Allure Rooms, Oasis Suites, Radiance River View Suites and The Grace Villa. The hotel sits within the SkyCity Adelaide complex, so your evening may involve the same building whether you are heading to dinner, the spa, the rooftop or back from the river.
SkyCity Adelaide’s dining page lists venues including Huami, The District, SOL Rooftop, iTL Italian Kitchen, The Kitchen, Madame Hanoi, The Guardsman, Westward, Central Café, Chandelier Bar and Xpress. Not all of these are hotel restaurants in the narrow sense; they are part of the wider SkyCity Adelaide offer. Use the restaurants guide if you want to plan two nights without crossing town.
If you prefer a quieter stay, make that clear when you request a room. Ask for the dates, guest count and preferred category, and note whether you are arriving from North Terrace, Festival Drive or the railway station side. For a city stay built around the river rather than the gaming floor, the Riverbank precinct guide is the better starting point.
Ownership and current status
SkyCity Entertainment Group operates SkyCity Adelaide. The facts compiled for this site identify the group as NZX/ASX-listed and as operating casinos, hotels, restaurants, bars and a convention centre in New Zealand and Australia.
A market release dated 30 September 2026 said that, since announcing a strategic review of the Adelaide business on 20 August 2026, SkyCity had received inquiries from credible interested parties. It said SkyCity would shortly commence a formal sale process, led by UBS, to seek proposals from those and other parties. The same release said there was no certainty that the process would result in any transaction or other outcome. As of 23 October 2026, no completed sale or buyer was stated on the official pages fetched for this guide.
For a guest, the practical approach is to book against published hotel availability and keep an eye on direct communications from the hotel or booking partner. This independent site is not SkyCity and does not sell casino access; it takes room requests and passes accommodation details through the booking process.
