Privacy notice

Privacy notice for Riverbank Stay

This notice explains how Riverbank Stay handles personal information when you read the site or send a room request for Eos by SkyCity. It is written for Australian readers. We keep the request desk narrow: dates, stay details, contact details and the information needed to pass on your enquiry.

Home / Privacy

Who this notice covers

Riverbank Stay is an independent website about Eos by SkyCity and the Riverbank precinct. We are not SkyCity Adelaide, Eos by SkyCity or SkyCity Entertainment Group. The hotel and SkyCity Adelaide have their own privacy practices, booking systems and guest records.

This notice applies to personal information collected through this website, including when you use the request a room form, contact the editor, or browse pages such as the full review, rooms and suites guide or getting there notes.

We aim to handle personal information consistently. If you become a confirmed guest, the booking relationship is with the hotel or booking partner that confirms the stay. Their own privacy notice will apply to information they collect directly from you.

What we collect when you send a room request

When you make a room request, we collect the information you choose to provide in the form. That may include your name, email address, preferred dates, number of guests, room category preferences, arrival notes and any message you add for the request desk.

Please do not send payment card numbers, passport details, driver licence numbers, health information or other sensitive documents through the form. The request form is intended to start an accommodation enquiry, not to complete check-in or take payment.

We also keep ordinary administrative records connected with the enquiry, such as the time the request was received and the messages needed to follow it up. These records help us respond to you, pass on accurate details and keep a dated account of what was requested.

How we use request information

We use your information to handle the accommodation request you sent. That includes reading your preferred dates, checking the room category or stay notes, sending your details to the hotel or booking partner where needed, and replying to you about the next step.

We may also use request records to manage this site, prevent misuse of the form, answer questions, resolve disputes and keep business records. We do not use the request form to create an online casino account, and this website does not offer gambling services. Australia restricts online casino play; any casino at SkyCity Adelaide is a physical venue, separate from this site.

For commercial disclosure, see how this site earns. If a room request becomes a confirmed stay, a commission may be paid by the hotel or booking partner, never by the reader.

Google Tag Manager and site measurement

This site may use Google Tag Manager to manage measurement tags. Tag Manager helps load and control scripts used to understand basic site activity, such as pages viewed, device type, referral source and general technical performance.

These tools may use cookies, device identifiers or similar technologies. They do not tell us everything about you, but they can help us see, in aggregate, which pages are useful and where the site needs repair. For example, measurement may show that readers move from the 48 hours in Adelaide guide to the room-request page.

You can control cookies and similar technologies through your browser settings. Some settings may reduce measurement or affect parts of the site. We do not use analytics data to encourage gambling, and we do not sell reader profiles.

Sharing with the hotel or booking partner

We share room-request information only where it is needed to handle your enquiry. That means we may send the details you provide to the hotel or a booking partner so availability, rates and booking conditions can be confirmed directly with you.

We do not publish your request, add guest quotes to the site, or turn your enquiry into a public review. We also do not sell personal information to unrelated advertisers.

If your request is passed on, the hotel or booking partner may contact you using the details you supplied. Once they receive your information, their own privacy terms and booking terms may apply. If you proceed with a reservation, any deposit, payment, identity check or cancellation arrangement is handled by the confirming hotel or partner, not by Riverbank Stay.

Storage, security and retention

We store request information in the systems used to operate the website, receive form submissions and manage email. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access. No website or email system can be guaranteed secure, so the form should not be used for highly sensitive information.

We keep room-request records for as long as they are needed for the enquiry, administration, accounting, dispute handling and legal obligations. After that, records may be deleted, de-identified or archived in a restricted way.

If you want a request removed earlier, contact the editor. We will consider the request and respond as the Privacy Act and ordinary record-keeping obligations allow.

Access, correction and questions

You may ask to access personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Use the editor email published on the about page and include enough detail for us to identify the request.

We may need to verify your identity before giving access or making a correction. If we cannot provide access or make the change you ask for, we will explain why, as required by Australian privacy law.

You can also use the same editor email for privacy questions or complaints. We will read the message, check the relevant records and respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may have rights to take the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Maps from Google

Our getting-there page shows the hotel on an embedded Google Maps map, and several pages link to routes on Google Maps. The home page loads its map only when you press the button. When a map loads or you follow a route link, your browser connects to Google, which may receive your IP address, device details and the page you came from, and may set its own cookies. Google handles that information under its own privacy policy, not this notice. If you prefer not to connect to Google, skip the map and use the written directions instead.
